Volvo targets 60% EV production in Ghent by 2022

Volvo Cars is tripling the production capacity for electric cars at its plant in Ghent, Belgium. By 2022, electric cars are to account for around 60 per cent of total production capacity there. Among other things, a purely electric version and the PHEV versions of the Volvo XC40 have been produced in Ghent so far.

Lynk & Co coming to Europe in 2021

Lynk & Co plans to deliver their first vehicles in Europe in spring 2021. The Geely subsidiary is starting with the hybrid SUV 01, which shares the platform with the Volvo XC40. A subscription-like membership model will also handle sales in Europe.

Volvo to reveal an all-electric XC40 later this year

Volvo will introduce the first all-electric version of its XC40 brand compact SUV later this year, which will be the Volvo Car Group’s second BEV after the recently launched Polestar 2. Both electric models are to be launched in 2020.

The Volvo subsidiary Polestar has officially launched its first volume production model. Two electric motors with a combined output of 300 kW power the Polestar 2 EV that has a battery capacity of 78 kWh, which should enable a WLTP range of 500 km.

Lynk & Co present model 02 and preview 03 for China

The Geely brand Lynk & Co has revealed the design for their second model 02 in Amsterdam. The crossover SUV will be available in Europe as a PHEV as of 2020, and a purely electric version is to follow. Production will be set in Belgium.
