BMW increases electric powertrain production

BMW is increasing production capacities and the number of employees in its electric drive production competence centre in Dingolfing faster than initially planned – due to the high demand for plug-in vehicles.

BMW prepares to produce iNEXT electric car

BMW is investing around €400M in the Dingolfingen vehicle plant for the production of the iNEXT. The Bavarian electric flagship is to roll off the production line there from 2021 – alongside other plug-in hybrids and models with combustion engines.

BMW is stocking up staff for electrification

At their plant in Dingolfing, Bavaria, BMW is planning to increase the number of jobs in the production of electric drive components from the current 600 to up to 2,000 employees. Also, preparations are being made for the production of the iNEXT planned for 2021.

BMW gears up Dingolfing factory for EV manufacturing

BMW has begun preparing their manufacturing facilities for increased EV production, including electric drive systems and batteries. The upgrades and adjustments for the battery assembly for the Mini EV alone will cost a two digit figure in the millions.

BMW teasing iNEXT and wants to expand in China

BMW has revealed a teaser image of the upcoming iNEXT. While the image allows for a very limited glimpse of their upcoming electric model only, it precedes what BMW calls its Vision Vehicle, that can be expected this year.

BMW to supply battery modules to StreetScooter

Battery modules of the BMW i are now also getting part of the fully electrified delivery vans made by the Deutsche Post DHL. According to the German carmaker, these modules are equivalent to those used for the BMW i3.
