European debut of next-gen Kia Soul EV in Geneva
Kia will bring the third-gen e-Soul to the Geneva Motor Show next week. The Koreans’ updated electric car classic boasts a larger range and significantly increased torque with two motor and battery options. Kia says the e-Soul will be available in “selected European markets” this spring.

Audi to release PHEV versions of A6, A7, A8 and Q5
At the Geneva Motor Show, Audi will present PHEV variants of the A6, A7 Sportback, A8 and Q5 models, all with a minimum electric range of 40 kilometres (WLTP). The new plug-in hybrids will be available for ordering throughout 2019.

Piëch Automotive to present Mark Zero e-racer
The Swiss company Piëch Automotive will present an electric sports car called Mark Zero at the Geneva Motor Show, which will be followed by several other vehicles. Behind the company is Anton Piëch, a son of former VW boss Ferdinand Piëch, whose grandfather was Ferdinand Porsche.

e.GO to show sports version of debut EV & private bus
The German electric car startup e.GO Mobile will present two new vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show. The e.GO Life Concept Sport is a sporty version of the company’s debut EV e.GO Life, whilst the e.GO Lux is a small electric bus reimagined for private use.

Audi releases first pictures of Q4 e-tron concept
Audi is now offering a first official preview of its previously teased all-electric compact SUV based on the MEB Group modular system, due to debut in Geneva this March. The study now got the name of Audi Q4 e-tron concept and will go serial in 2020/21.

Audi brings electric concept SUV to Geneva
Audi’s planned all-electric compact SUV based on MEB will be presented on 5 March at the Geneva Motor Show as a near-series study. The still nameless Audi BEV will roll off the production line starting in 2021, as will the VW ID. and a compact electric car from Seat at the Zwickau plant.

Audi planning yet another e-SUV based on MEB
Audi has teased yet another e-SUV based on MEB at the Dutch market launch of the Audi e-tron. This new model would join the ranks of the already planned Audi e-tron, e-tron Sportback and e-tron GT. Plus, the supercar PB18 e-tron with solid-state battery is to become a reality, at least for the selected few.

Honda Urban EV delayed in Europe till 2020
Honda’s first all-electric model for the European market, the Urban EV, will not be launched at the end of 2019 as previously announced, but in 2020. A near-series version will debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March and the production model at the IAA in September.

Pininfarina christens its e-sportscar ‘Battista’
The Automobili Pininfarina e-super sports car – previously known as PF0 – will now bear the name Battista and celebrate its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. In the meantime competitor Lotus is following suit with its own fully electric super sports car.

Tata Motors announced electrification of current models
The Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors announced that they are working on electrifying the majority of their current lineup. Currently, Tata only offers a single fully electric passenger car; the Tigor. Next they plan to release an electric version of the Tiago.

Hyundai to bring Santa FE in hybrid versions
Hyundai has put its updated SUV called Santa Fe in the spotlight at the Auto Salon and said, that there will be both a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid variant. When the electrified models will hit the shelves is as of yet unknown though.

Italian design studio Icona has brought a concept electric car to Geneva. The Nucleus is ready to drive itself and up to six passengers. 4 electric motors from Elaphe are powered by a 300 kilo battery made my Bolloré supported by a hydrogen range extender.

Goodyear shows tires specifically for EVs (video)
Goodyear draws attention to a new tire technology designed for EVs in Geneva. The EfficientGrip Performance with “Electric Drive Technology” features larger rubber contact patch on the road while reducing rolling resistance, aerodynamic drag and tire noise, according to the manufacturer.

Lexus’ UX also available as hybrid version UX 250h
Lexus’ compact crossover UX has debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The hybrid version of the model will be known as UX 250h. It comes with a new fourth-gen hybrid powertrain and will be available either with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
