Kick-scooter culture yet to kick in

A twelve-month trial with electric kick-scooters in Coventry, England, has been paused only five days after it started. Contrary to regulations, the vehicles were used on sidewalks and discarded throughout the city. The Council is now reviewing the best way to ensure the e-scooters are used appropriately.

Renault presents EZ-POD personal BEV

Based on the Twizy, Renault presented a new micromobile for transporting people and goods over short distances called the EZ-POD. The concept vehicle is battery-powered and fully automated. The pods can also be joined together to form convoys for transporting larger groups.

ChargeWheel funded for mobile charging trailers

The California-based company has secured $1m in seed funding to help set up the San Francisco Bay Area’s first mobile charging network. The charging network will be based on 100 of the company’s energy trailers, which combine solar power generation and energy storage for charging personal electric vehicles of all kinds.
