German carmakers increase electric car sales
German carmakers Porsche, Audi, VW and the BMW Group, have published sales figures for 2020. Although overall sales declined, their sales of electric cars and plug-in hybrids still saw a significant increase. In some cases, these now account for a double-digit share of total sales.
Porsche reveals revamped Panamera
Porsche presents the extensively revised Panamera, for which a further plug-in hybrid version is also available: The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid supplements the PHEV range with a completely new drive system with 412 kW (560 hp) system power.
Porsche 718, Cayenne & Panamera may go electric
Within the next twelve months, Porsche intends to make a final decision as to whether the next generation of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman will be solely manufactured as an electric series. This was stated by Porsche boss Oliver Blume in an interview.
Porsche drops all diesel variants from its lineup
Porsche has axed all diesel variants, namely the Macan and Panamera officially and with immediate effect from production. The firm points to traditionally low demand for Porsche diesel cars and to growth in the electrified segment into which the carmaker is increasingly invested.
