RWTH Aachen to cooperate with Indonesia’s battery industry
The Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen University is involved in establishing a battery industry and electromobility in Indonesia. This will also involve an electric vehicle and the electrification of public transport.

Umicore to build PEM recycling plant in China
Belgian materials technology and recycling group Umicore is investing in a PEM fuel cell catalyst production facility in China. Located in the northwest of Shanghai, the plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2024 and will be scalable to adapt to the growth of the H2 commercial vehicle market.

TÜV & ConAC to open test lab for EV batteries
The German certification service provider TÜV Rheinland and the Aachen-based start-up ConAC have announced a test laboratory for electric car drive batteries. The laboratory, which is to become one of the “largest and most modern independent battery test centres in Europe”, is scheduled to start operations in September 2021 in the German-Dutch industrial park Avantis.

BReCycle project to analyse fuel cell recycling
The BReCycle project now launched, sees five research and industrial partners working on a closed-loop economic concept for PEM fuel cells. The aim is to develop a sustainable process for the treatment of fuel cells.
