Siemens and Volta Trucks join forces in fleet infrastructure
Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Volta Trucks have announced a push to facilitate full fleet electrification. They signed a letter of intent outlining how they will jointly seek to deliver “turnkey solutions” for fleet operators by integrating vehicles, charging infrastructure and energy management.

Continental & Siemens to cooperate on truck pantographs
Continental Engineering Services (CES) and Siemens Mobility will cooperate in the development and production of pantographs for trucks. The duo has in mind the electrification of road freight transport by means of so-called eHighways, as they are currently being tested in three regions in Germany.

Daimler Trucks partners with CATL, Shell, Siemens, Engie & EVBox
CATL will supply batteries for the production version of the announced Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul from 2024 onwards. Daimler’s commercial vehicle division has also entered into its own collaborations with Engie, EVBox, Siemens Smart Infrastructure for EV infrastructure and Shell for fuel cell truck infrastructure.

Green light for eHighway pilot in Germany

California sees first eHighway
Siemens and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) inaugurated a 1.6 km test track with an overhead catenary system made by Siemens. The eHighway stretches out in the Californian city of Carson, close to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
