BMW 530e receives battery update

With immediate effect, BMW is installing more powerful battery cells in the plug-in hybrid version of the 5 Series. The aim is to increase the electric range to up to 57 kilometres and reduce CO2 emissions by 20 per cent.

Nidec & GAC found electric drive joint venture

VW-SAIC reveal first MEB models for China

BMW loses appeal for more government funding

BMW is to receive fewer German government subsidies for the construction of the i3 and i8 at its Leipzig plant than it had applied for. The federal German government originally considered paying BMW 45 million euros, but the EU Commission only approved 17 million.

China: Magna & BAIC to cooperate on EV production

Magna and BAIC have officially signed a framework agreement with the government of the Chinese city of Zhenjiang for the production of electric vehicles.
