Fastned launches shop & charge pilot at Albert Heijn supermarket
Fastned have joined up with Albert Heijn supermarkets in Amsterdam for a pilot project. They have now opened the first fast-charging station at the chain store with another two locations to follow. If the pilot project proves successful, both partners want to increase the number of stations at supermarkets.

Hungary: CEZ to install fast charging stations
The Czech Energy Group (CEZ) has been tasked with setting up fast charging stations in Hungary. The expansion is part of a $44M investment, first in their home nation before coming to Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania and Slovakia in the next decade.

FreeWire gathers $15 million in financing round
The high speed charging specialists from FreeWire managed to take in 15 million dollars (about €13.2 million) in fresh capital during a financing round. The investors included BP and Volvo, who had also previously invested in the company.

UK charging station expansion at Tesco’s and Marston’s
The EV charging network in the UK will be expanded in two new initiatives over the next few years: Volkswagen plans to install more than 2,400 charging stations at Tesco locations, while Engenie plans to install 400 fast charging stations at Marston’s pubs.

Innogy has announced a cooperation with Skidata Italia, that manages billing systems of parking facilities. Skidata opted to install 300 Innogy AC charging points in Italian multi-storey car parks next year alone and connect to Innogy’s software.

Wallbox launch China JV to make charging equipment
Wallbox Chargers of Spain set up a new joint venture with Chinese Changchun FAWSN. Together they aim to sell up to half a million Wallbox charging stations a year. A new factory in the manufacturing city of Suzhou, close to Shanghai, will cover the entire production.

Enel X Romania plans nationwide charging network
Italian energy supplier Enel will use its subsidiary Enel X Romania to set up a nationwide charging network for electric cars in Romania. According to their plans, some 2,500 charging points with capacities of between 22 and 150 kW should be available by 2023.

Opel R&D centre to receive 160 EV chargers
Opel is planning to install more than 160 charging points for EVs at their research and development centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Fortum opens their first HPC charger in Finland
The first high power charger of Fortum Charge & Drive in Finland is live. The 150 kW station is located at a gas station and is part of the Nordic ultra fast charging corridor between Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki.
