Norway to remove VAT exemption for pricey electric cars
The Norwegian Government followed up on plans to remove EV subsidies when it announced the revised budget this week. First to fall is the VAT exemption on electric cars costing more than 500,000 kroner (just under 49,000 euros) as of 1 January 2023.

EU parliament committee votes to ban combustion engines from 2035
The European Parliament’s Environment Committee has voted in favour of the EU Commission’s proposed de facto ban on internal combustion engines from 2035 for new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in the European Union as part of the “Fit for 55” climate package.

Western Australia starts subsidies + road tax for EVs
The Western Australian government has launched the Clean Energy Car Fund doted with almost $60 million (AUS – almost 40 million euros). This includes rebates for the purchase of battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and charging infrastructure, but also an extra road tax for drivers of these vehicles.

Norway reconsiders electric car privileges
The Norwegian Ministry of Transport is considering abolishing or reducing privileges for electric vehicles in taxes and tolls in larger cities. Germany issues first grants to decarbonise urban bus fleets

ZEBRA: UK Gov’ funds nearly 1,000 zero-emission buses
