Westminster streets to be cleaned with EVs
In the UK, Westminster City Council (central London) and its waste contractor Veolia have unveiled a 60 strong fleet of new and ‘upcycled’ electric vehicles. This means that street cleaning services in London’s famous West End are now completely fully electric.
Arcimoto found 5x larger production base in Oregon
Arcimoto, which makes funky electric trikes, has announced that it has agreed to purchase a new manufacturing site in Eugene, Oregon. Spanning over 185,000 square feet (about 17,187 sqm), the new factory is more than five times as large as Arcimoto’s current production facilities.
Carver trike makes comeback with electric drive
The Dutch tricycle-car with tilting technology is celebrating a comeback with an electric drive. The electric car, or quad rather, which will be available in autumn, will be cheaper than its fossil-fuelled predecessor, at around €8,000.
DPD delivers packages with 8 TRIPL scooters
Following Hermes and GLS, the package delivery service DPD is now also using the electric trikes from Danish manufacturer EWII to deliver. In the first step, packages in Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne will be delivered with the electric trikes.
UPS is trialing electric bikes
UPS is trialing deliveries with electric bikes and trikes in the streets of London and Pittsburgh. The British capital sees a bike trailer pushed along electrically, while in Pennsylvania it is an e-trike that hauls the parcels.
