Hamburg orders up to 350 electric buses from MAN & Daimler
Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein (VHH) orders up to 350 new electric buses in one fell swoop for its public transport fleet of almost 700 vehicles. MAN Truck & Bus and Daimler Buses are the winners of the largest electric bus tender in the company’s history.

The new Mercedes eSprinter is to be launched in the USA and Canada in the second half of the year. In Europe, the first variant of the van will be launched at the end of the year. In total, the vehicle with new technology in the familiar body will be available in around 60 markets.

Nearly 8,000 eSprinters and eVito from Mercedes-Benz worldwide have to go to the workshop due to a software problem. A fault in the battery management system can lead to loss of drive power. The recall affects 7,996 eSprinter vehicles worldwide and 2,511 eVito vehicles in Germany.

DPD orders another 150 eSprinter
Following the deployment of the first vehicles since 2020 as part of a pilot project, the German logistics service provider DPD has now added a further 150 eSprinter electric vans from Mercedes-Benz Vans to its German fleet. The vehicles will be used at the depot locations in Hamburg, Essen and Nuremberg.

InPost orders 260 electric vans to green operations in Poland
The Polish courier service InPost has procured 260 electric vans and expects these to join the fleet before the year’s end. InPost will then run a total fleet of 300 electric vehicles. The new vans on order primarily come from the Nissan retrofitter Voltia.

DHL Parcel UK will add 50 new electric vans to their fleet before the year’s end. The logistics company will deploy the 50 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter L2s in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Leicester, Bristol and Southampton and complement the fleet in London.

Hermes orders 168 Mercedes eSprinter in the UK
The British business unit of the parcel service provider Hermes has ordered 168 Mercedes-Benz eSprinters. The electric vans are to go into operation before the end of the year. The order is being handled by the Mercedes dealer Intercounty Truck & Van.

Mercedes recalls passenger and delivery e-vans
Just a few months after its market launch, the Mercedes-Benz electric passenger van, the EQV is already subject to a recall: 302 EQVs produced between 21 February and 27 October 2020 will have to go back to the factory. Amazon orders over 1,800 electric vans from Mercedes
Amazon orders more than 1,800 electric transporters from Mercedes-Benz Vans. The order includes around 600 eVito and more than 1,200 eSprinter delivery vans, with Amazon expecting deliveries to begin this year. This is the largest order for electric vehicles from Mercedes transporter unit to date.

Mercedes reveals eSprinter specs
Mercedes has released the technical specifications of their new electric Sprinter, which will be released on the market in 2019. The vehicle will be sold as a delivery van with a raised roof and performs with an 84 kW motor and two battery varieties with 41 or 55 kWh.
