Mach2 consortium will unleash driverless shuttles in France
A French consortium comprising Alstom, EasyMile, Equans, Keolis, Renault Group and StatInf, is about to launch a fleet of autonomous minibuses. The project dubbed Mach2 includes level 4 autonomy, without a human driver onboard, and is a first in Europe.

Jutland awards Keolis with deploying 100% electric bus fleet
Nordjyllands Trafikselskab, the public transport authority for Northern Denmark, has selected Keolis to electrify, operate and maintain the region’s bus network. The concession stipulates that Keolis must convert the entire fleet to zero-emission service by 1 April 2023.

All-electric bus services to start in Senegal
Infrastructure investor Meridiam is implementing a large bus project in Africa with its partners Keolis and Fonsis. The concession contract now signed provides a total investment of more than 135 million euros for operating and maintaining an exclusively electric bus public transport network in Senegal’s capital Dakar.

Keolis to operate 120 e-buses in southern France
The French Région Sud has commissioned Keolis to operate two sections of its regional transport network in the Alpes-Maritimes region of south-eastern France with buses for eight years from 1 January 2022. Within one year, the bus fleet will be all-electric.

Keolis launches second 100% electric BRT line in France
Keolis has launched a second all-electric Bus Rapid Transit line on the French Basque Coast. The e-BRT is part of the Chronoplus transport network, linking Tarnos to Bayonne. The SMPBA (Syndicat des Mobilités Pays Basque Adour) operates the route.

Keolis to deploy electric bendy-buses in Gothenburg
Keolis has been awarded a ten-year contract worth €150 million to run electric buses in Gothenburg, Sweden. The contract with the Västraffik transport association is due to take effect in June 2022 and involves replacing the city’s biogas and biodiesel buses.

The public transport operator Keolis has received 55 e-buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong. The vehicles will be used for two projects in Denmark. Keolis has also secured an order from France.

Keolis deploys more than 240 e-buses in the Netherlands
Keolis Nederland has put 246 all-electric buses into operation in the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel. This is the bulk of the order for 259 e-buses awarded to BYD at the end of 2019. The remaining 13 battery buses are scheduled for delivery in spring 2021.

Bergen launches fossil-fuel free bus network
In Bergen, 102 battery-electric buses from Yutong took up service at the beginning of this month, 88 of which are 12 meters long and 14 of which are 15 meters long. Besides the Yutong buses, Polish bus maker Solaris has provided ten trolleybuses.

Keolis extends electric fleet and contract term in Stockholm
Public transport operator Keolis has received a four-year extension of the existing contract for Stockholm from the Swedish transport authority Storstockholms Lokaltrafik. The contract has now been extended to August 2026 and the existing fleet is to be increased by 15 electric buses.

Keolis orders 20 electric buses for use in Odense

Orléans to acquire 180 electric buses by 2024
The French city of Orléans intends to procure 180 electric buses as part of its plan to implement a fully electric public transport system by 2024. The first 29 electric buses made by Spain’s Irizar are to go into operation in the first half of 2021.

World’s first hydrogen BRT launches in France
The first hydrogen-powered Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has gone live in Pau, in the south of France. It is called Fébus and launched with the roll-out of a fleet of eight 18m Van Hool Exqui-City FC buses, serving a special six km route.

Keolis orders 259 BYD buses to the Netherlands
BYD has received its largest single order ever for electric buses from Europe. Keolis Nederland has ordered 259 battery-electric buses from the Chinese manufacturer to be delivered from summer 2020. This is based on a new ten-year operating concession recently granted to Keolis.

CA: Keolis & Navya launch first autonomous shuttles
The town of Candiac in Québec will see the first real-road trial of autonomous electric shuttles in Canada. Setup by Keolis using EVs from Navya, the trial will run over 12 months. The shuttles will serve on public roads on a 2-km stretch.
