eTaxi Austria opens pilot charging test location
The eTaxi Austria project for testing automated conductive charging technology for electric taxis directly at taxi ranks is becoming concrete: Before the pilot operation starts, a project location has now been realised at the Wien Energie site at the Simmering power plant in order to implement various application scenarios in practice.
Easelink raises €8.3 million for charging pad expansion
Easelink, the Austrian developer of the automated conductive charging solution Matrix Charging, has raised 8.3 million euros in its Series A funding round. The funding has been raised to further expand Easelink’s product team, deepen cooperation with the automotive and infrastructure industries and continue the implementation of a global charging standard.
Charge point expansion in Vienna almost complete
The construction of 1,000 public charging points for electric cars in Vienna that started in early 2018 is now on the home stretch. According to Wien Energie, almost 800 green electricity charging points have been set up to date, and another 50 will be added in September in several districts of Vienna.
Austria goes back to the future
Vienna is famous for its horse-drawn “Fiaker” carriages. Now the electric utility company Wien Energie is introducing a similar-but-different specimen that lacks one very visible detail: the horses.
High Power Charging in Switzerland and Austria
