GreenWay Polska to high power charge Poland

GreenWay Polska has signed an agreement with Gdańsk Transport Company to place ultra-fast charging stations with up to 350 kW along the A1 highway in Poland. The charge stops will become part of the GreenWay network starting in early 2019.

The Alsatian E-Mobility startup Chargemap is cooperating with Hubject to move outside of France as well. As of the coming summer, EV drivers who use the Chargemap charging solution can use any intercharge charging station in the world.

Tesla Supercharger rates rise suddenly in the USA

There’s been a sudden price hike at Supercharger stations across the USA. Rates doubled in some regions while in other states, tariffs increased by 20 to 40%. Tesla insists that the network “will never be a profit center” for the company.

Nissan and E.On work on EV-based energy services

In Geneva, German energy provider E.On and Nissan have entered into a strategic partnership as both consider to jointly kick-off pilot projects and common commercial offers in fields such as V2G, decentralised energy production and storage as well as the grid integration of Nissan EVs.

Finland’s Fortum takes over PlugSurfing from Berlin

Finnish charging infrastructure operator Fortum Charge & Drive has acquired all shares of PlugSurfing and owns the company now to a 100 percent. The Berlin-based startup had specialised in unifying charging with one solution for multiple suppliers early on as it developed a particularly smart billing solution working across a range of payment systems.

CHAdeMO working on 400 kW charging

Asia’s charging standard CHAdeMO is working to up its game as the next protocol is to enable high power charging at 400 kW. For now, the latest protocol 1.2 enables 200 kW but it looks as if they are ready to go head to head with CCS.

Hubject integrates charging network of département Yonne

Hubject has entered into a cooperation with SPIE CityNetworks and ‘Syndicat Départemental d’Énergies’ of the district Yonne (SDEY) to integrate their EV charging offerings. SDEY’s and SPIE’s charging stations may now be used by anybody signed up to Hubject’s intercharge.

Tesla has further expanded their charging network in China. Now it covers most cities in the Jangtse Delta, the Pearl River Delta, the Region Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and the Region Chengdu-Chongqing. Also three of the largest charging parks belonging to Tesla are on Chinese soil.

Renault and EEM launch “Smart Island” project

Renault and EEM launched the ‘Smart Island’ project, that will give EV batteries a sweet second life on the Madeira archipelago. The French manufacturer is cooperating with utility Empresa de Electricidade da Madeira to convert Porto Santo island into a smart grid. On a small scale first.
