Toyota & Seven-Eleven launching fuel cell project
The basic agreement to use hydrogen and fuel cell transport to power convenience stores in Japan more sustainable had been made already last year. Now Toyota and Seven-Eleven agreed on a more detailed plan and schedule to launch fuel cell trucks and renewable energy storage systems.

Goldstone-BYD reveal electric bus made in India
BYD and their JV partner Goldstone Infratech in India have revealed their first joint product, an electric minibus. The ‘eBuzz K6’ has been presented in Delhi and can carry 18 passengers over a range of 200 kilometres on one charge.

Green light for eHighway pilot in Germany
The German environmental ministry has given the green light for the eHighway pilot to look further into the electrification of long distance hauling trucks via pantograph. Project partners are Siemens and Volkswagen.

Voith has released details to their previously announced new system to power electric buses. The 260 kW permanent magnet motor was designed as a prototype for the Solaris Urbino, but is easily adaptable for buses from other manufacturers.

Nissan starts delivery of new e-NV200
Nissan has begun the delivery of its Barcelona-made e-NV200 with an increased battery capacity by 40 kW. Since the market launch in January, more than 4,000 orders have been accepted for the new e-NV200, according to Nissan.

Electric waste truck by Terberg RosRoca debuts
British Terberg RosRoca presents their all-electric dump truck at the IFAT in Munich. Their eCollect features a 200 kW electric motor powered by a 300 kWh battery. Production is to start by the end of 2019 with models for both right and left hand drive.

DAF and VDL team up for electric semi truck CF Electric
Dutch DAF has turned to VDL as they want to electrify their truck business. VDL delivers the EV system including a 170 kWh battery and the electric semi is to haul up to 40 tons through cities. A small number of e-trucks will take up service at selected clients this year.

Irizar to make electric utility vehicles in Spain
It is Europe’s first “emobility plant” said Irizar at the inauguration of their new facility in Aduna, Spain. On a floor area of 18,000 sqm they want to build electric buses and other commercial vehicles en masse in order to keep up with demand.

EU pushes to cut CO2 emission from trucks by 30%
The call to cut CO2 emissions continues with the EU now explicitly targeting trucks for the first time. Greenhouse gas emission by transport’s heavy weights is to be reduced by 30 percent by 2030, a draft states that will be out for review this Thursday.

Nikola Motor sues Tesla over design patent violation
Nikola Motor has filed a lawsuit against Tesla, claiming the Semi electric truck to be “substantially” similar to Nikola Motor’s fuel cell electric semi-truck design. In the filing, the infringement is estimated to be worth a loss of two billion dollars to Nikola. Tesla denies the allegations.

Blue Bird electric school buses now fully certified
