Ford kicks-off StreetScooter Work XL production
The lines at Ford’s factory in Cologne have begun rolling in order to make the largest electric van in the StreetScooter line-up, the Work XL. Based on the Ford Transit and equipped with EV technology by DP/DHL, they expect to activate the first 1,000 units this year.

CAF completes takeover of Solaris
The Spanish rail vehicle manufacturer Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) has completed their takeover of the Polish electric bus manufacturer Solaris Bus & Coach. On the 4th of September, CAF received all shares from Solaris. The Polish government will receive 35% ownership, which was negotiated beforehand.
New Linkker lightweight electric bus from Finland
Bus maker Linkker of Finland announced a new electric bus model. The Linkker 12 LF design emphasises range with two battery chemistry options. While building on the Linkker 12 LE, the LF is lightweight with an all-alloy chassis. It also has an improved drive train.
Real-world trial with electric transporter Vario
Logistics firm Hellmann and trailer transmission maker BPW Bergische Achsen KG teamed up for a joint trial. BPW retrofitted a Mercedes Vario truck with their electric motor axle called eTransport. Hellmann will now integrate the van into their fleet for six months.
