Norwegian Vy Buss orders 55 BYD electric buses

BYD has received one of its largest single orders to date from a European public transport operator: Vy Buss from Norway ordered 55 electric buses, including BYD’s new 13-metre bus as the first customer worldwide.

New batteries and longest bus so far from Solaris

Solaris has just presented a battery update for its Urbino 18 electric bus at Busworld. At the bus trade show in Belgium, the Polish manufacturer is also exhibiting its longest vehicle to date, the new Trollino 24 trolleybus.

Ebusco: lighter electric bus for more range

Ebusco presents the third generation of its electric bus, claiming a range of up to 500 km due to a 33 per cent weight reduction. The Ebusco 3.0 will debut at Busworld in Brussels on Friday and is scheduled to go into production in the Netherlands in mid-2020.

MAN to show the eTGE electric minibus

For this year’s Busworld in Brussels, MAN has announced its first all-electric minibus, the eTGE Kombi. The commercial vehicle manufacturer will also be offering the all-electric 12-metre Lion’s City E bus for test drives at the fair.

The telematics specialist ViriCiti has revealed a monitoring system for operators of mixed bus fleets. “Mixed Fleet” integrates all types of buses (electric, hybrid, hydrogen and diesel) and their energy infrastructure into one platform. The first deployment will start in October.

Solaris to install new battery in the Urbino 18

The Polish electric bus manufacturer Solaris will be presenting a battery update for the Urbino 18 at Busworld Europe in October this year. The battery is from a different (unnamed) supplier and will have an increased capacity of up to 550 kWh.
