Alexander Dennis presents hybrid double-decker bus
The Scottish bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis, which was recently taken over by North America’s largest bus manufacturer NFI Group, is expanding its range to include a double-decker with hybrid drive. The basis is the Enviro400EV, which is also on the road in London as a fully electric bus.

BYD presents mobile charging station for electric buses
China’s leading bus maker BYD and their British partner Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) presented a new version of their Enviro200EV electric bus at the Euro Bus Expo in Birmingham. The 10 metre electric vehicle features an extra space big enough to fit a wheelchair but also a mobile charging station.
Stagecoach to purchase e-buses for Manchester
The passenger transport operator Stagecoach has announced plans to acquire more than 100 electric double-deckers buses for the greater Manchester area. The first of the 105 new Enviro400 EV City buses will likely hit the roads in summer 2019.
Electric double-decker buses coming to London
A whole pack of all-electric double-decker buses is coming to London. 68 of them are to arrive in summer 2019 and will electrify entire routes. They are being made by ADL, BYD and Optare and TfL says this will grow the fleet to 240 all-electric buses.
