Ford begins manufacturing the Mach-E in China
Ford has started production of the all-electric Mustang Mach-E in China and opened the order books there at the same time. The Mustang Mach-E, produced at Changan Ford’s plant in Chongqing, is scheduled for delivery to customers later this year.
Ford faces its own quality problem recall
Ford has to recall 5,000 Mustang Mach-E in Canada because of two different problems: one because of a windscreen that may not be properly attached and another because of a panoramic roof glass that may not be properly attached.

In Norway, some of Ford’s first EVs have stopped without warning. Six cases are known so far. The affected owners were driving on a steep road and experienced a sudden stop of their electric car after a longer phase of downhill recuperation.

The first units of the Ford Mustang Mach-E in the USA have a software problem that prevents them from driving off even when the battery is full. Apparently, some drivers were unable to start their car even when the battery was fully charged due to an internal communication error.
Ford updates Mach-E fast-charging data
Following real-life testing, Ford is updating the fast-charging data for the Mustang Mach-E. In the ‘Extended Range’ variant with battery and rear-wheel drive, the SUV’s charging performance is around 30% higher than the values stated before, the car manufacturer reports.

Ford announces new plans for American market
Ford has released their new plans for the future direction in the North American market: five new hybrid SUVs and one electric SUV are included in the 8 announced vehicles. The first fully battery electric Ford is expected in 2020.
Putting a car on top of the roof of a skyscraper does not make too much sense. In this case the car does not make much sense either. But Ford wants to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Mustang with style and will re-create its original debut during the New York Auto Show. Exactly as back in 1956, the car will be cut in three pieces and taken up using the elevators. Electrically-powered at least.
