VW brand to halt combustion engine development
Following Audi’s lead, the Volkswagen brand VW no longer intends to develop new combustion engines. Further developments of the existing units would suffice, according to CEO Ralf Brandstätter, before VW is to become mostly electric.

The Volkswagen brand has presented its ‘Accelerate’ strategy that should speed up its electric plans. VW also mentions concrete model plans, although, in the case of the electric compact car, the German carmaker company has been sparing with detail.

Volkswagen has restructured the Board of Management of its core passenger car brand. Frank Welsch, Member of the Board of Management responsible for Development, moves from the brand to the Group and will take charge of the new Group Quality Management and Strategy department.
VW confirms Zellmer as new board member
Jürgen Stackmann, a member of the Board of Management of the VW brand, has left the Volkswagen Group with immediate effect. As of 15 September, the new Board Member for Sales is now Klaus Zellmer, previously head of Porsche Cars North America.
VW ID.3 deliveries to begin in September
The order launch for the ID.3 on 17 June was already known, however, the delivery launch had still not been announced – not only because of the software problems. According to Volkswagen, the final schedule has now been fixed.
