Hitachi completes major fleet charging trial Optimise Prime
In the UK, the fleet charging project Optimise Prime has come to an end. The trials began in July 2021, led by Hitachi Europe and UK Power Networks, with over 8,000 electric vehicles from Centrica, Uber and Royal Mail. The findings will help all parties to understand better what large-scale rollouts require.

Royal Mail rolls out 43 zero emission delivery vans
The British post service Royal Mail has replaced the entire fleet with electric vans at its delivery office in Leighton Buzzard, a town in Bedfordshire, England. 43 new EVs will charge at twelve charging columns Royal Mail installed on site. The acquisition is part of the company’s plan to increase the number of EVs tenfold.

Seven British companies pledge to electrify fleets by 2030
Seven UK companies have joined forces to form the Electric Vehicle Fleet Accelerator (EVFA) and have pledged to convert their fleets to electric vehicles by 2030. In return, they are demanding a range of measures from the government to help with the transition.

UK postal service Royal Mail wants to convert all of its company cars to electric vehicles by 2030. Under the plans, the company will overhaul all of its current car programes to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.

Major UK fleet operators renew call for ICE ban by 2030
The UK’s four biggest fleet operators, BT and Openreach, Centrica, DPD UK and Royal Mail, today called on the British Government to commit to 100% electric vehicle sales by 2030. The demand comes trough the UK Electric Fleets Coalition, run by The Climate Group.

Royal Mail grows London fleet by 87 e-delivery vans
The British postal service Royal Mail is introducing 87 new electric delivery vans into London. The new vehicles are a mixture of the Mercedes-Benz eVito and Peugeot Partner Electric models, 30 of which are already in operation.

Royal Mail rolls out another 190 electric vans
In London and the South East, Royal Mail is rolling another out 190 electric vans, which will join the 100 electric van fleet already operating in the area. Notably, vans in this fleet will be painted green, unlike the traditional red colour of Royal Mail.

Royal Mail launching EV delivery fleet in Essex
A new fleet of electric postal vans has been introduced in South Essex by Royal Mail. The Eldon Way site is one of 18 UK-wide locations to have been fitted with charging stations with 100 electric vans in use around the country in total.
