VW to drop manual gears in the shift to e-mobility
VW wants to offer only automatic transmissions in the future as part of the shift to electromobility, thus saving costs for the further development of traditional transmission technology. The first VW model completely without a clutch pedal will be the 3rd generation Tiguan from 2023.
Volkswagen is gearing up for PHEV business
In addition to its fully electric models in the ID. series, VW is also planning to roll out further plug-in hybrid versions of the combustion engine series. Before the end of this year, VW plans to present PHEV variants of the Arteon and Tiguan.
