MAN takes order for 53 electric buses in Hamburg
MAN Truck & Bus has just received two orders from Hamburg for a total of 53 electric buses. Hamburger Hochbahn has ordered 17 Lion’s City 18 E, while an order from Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein (VHH) includes 30 electric solo and six articulated buses. The first electric buses are to be delivered this year.
Germany funds 472 new electric buses for Hamburg
The German Federal Ministry of Transport is funding the procurement of 472 additional electric buses including charging infrastructure for Hamburg with almost 160 million euros. More funding decisions from the German Federal government will be handed over in the next few days.
Hamburg: VHH manages e-bus fleet across 11 depots
The city of Hamburg is becoming a beacon of bus electrification. The Senate decided to make electric bus purchasing compulsory this year and the growing number of e-buses changes the depots. Operator VHH has therefore turned to PSI Transcom to implement PSIeBus.
Daimler delivers 16 electric buses to Hamburg
Public transport operator Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein (VHH) has now taken delivery of its 16 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro electric buses ordered in April 2019. Another four eCitaro solo buses and 17 eCitaro G articulated buses are to be delivered by the end of the year.
MAN installs stationary battery in Hamburg
At the depot of the Hamburg-Holstein transport authority (VHH) in Hamburg Bergedorf, a stationary 500 kWh storage facility – fitted with discarded batteries – has been connected to the depot’s charging network. The aim is to optimise the power supply at the depot.
16 eCitaro electric buses for Hamburg
The Hamburg-Holstein Transport Authority (VHH) in Germany has ordered 16 Mercedes-Benz eCitaro models that should be delivered at the end of 2019. According to Daimler, this will be the first time the fully electric city buses will feature the new maximum configuration with twelve battery packs and a total capacity of 292 kWh.
Hamburg: Deutsche Bahn to use LEVC electric cabs
Deutsche Bahn subsidiary ioki has launched an individual shuttle service in Hamburg. The on-demand offer complements the public transit by operator VHH and is included in their ticketing. The partners opted for the range-extended electric taxis made by British LEVC.
