Finnish forestry machine manufacturer Ponsse has presented the Ponsse EV1, a technology concept for electric forestry machines. The concept, implemented together with Ponsse’s technology company Epec, was developed for skidders with a load capacity of 15 tonnes.

Nissan announces UK pricing for the Townstar van
Nissan UK has announced pricing of its new compact van Townstar. The fully electric offshoot prices will start from £29,945 (excluding VAT and PiVG) for a short-wheelbase Townstar equipped with a 45kWh battery, with a range of up to 183 miles WLTP combined or up to 269 miles in city cycle.

Foxconn to build electric tractors for Monarch in the USA
The Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn will in future also build electric tractors and batteries for them in the USA. An agreement now concluded with tractor supplier Monarch Tractor provides for Monarch’s MK-V series electric tractors to be built at the Foxconn plant in Ohio from 2023.

Teco 2030 & AVL to develop 40-tonne fuel cell truck
The Norwegian company Teco 2030 and the Austrian drive developer AVL List have signed a cooperation agreement to use fuel cell stacks from Teco 2030 in AVL’s DemoTruck. The first prototype of the FC truck is scheduled to be on the road from mid-2023.

Series production of the Mercedes-Benz eEconic starts in Germany
Daimler Truck has started series production of the Mercedes-Benz eEconic. The electric special truck for inner-city municipal use is being produced at the Wörth site in the southern Rhineland-Palatinate. The first vehicle from series production will be delivered to the waste management company Urbaser A/S in Denmark before the end of the year.
