Ponsse presents electric forestry vehicle concept
Finnish forestry machine manufacturer Ponsse has presented the Ponsse EV1, a technology concept for electric forestry machines. The concept, implemented together with Ponsse’s technology company Epec, was developed for skidders with a load capacity of 15 tonnes.
Nissan announces UK pricing for the Townstar van
Nissan UK has announced pricing of its new compact van Townstar. The fully electric offshoot prices will start from £29,945 (excluding VAT and PiVG) for a short-wheelbase Townstar equipped with a 45kWh battery, with a range of up to 183 miles WLTP combined or up to 269 miles in city cycle.
Foxconn to build electric tractors for Monarch in the USA
The Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn will in future also build electric tractors and batteries for them in the USA. An agreement now concluded with tractor supplier Monarch Tractor provides for Monarch’s MK-V series electric tractors to be built at the Foxconn plant in Ohio from 2023.
Arrival confirms focus on electric delivery vehicles
In its latest quarterly report, the British electric vehicle start-up Arrival has confirmed the recently leaked strategic realignment, according to which the company will fully concentrate on the launch of its electric transporter for the time being and put its bus and car project on the back burner.
Nikola acquires Romeo Power, takes batteries in-house
Electric truck maker Nikola has agreed to acquire Romeo Power, thus taking battery development and manufacturing in-house. The agreement is definitive. Romeo specialises in batteries for commercial EVs, and their Cypress factory will become Nikola’s Battery Center of Excellence.
Series production of the Mercedes-Benz eEconic starts in Germany
Daimler Truck has started series production of the Mercedes-Benz eEconic. The electric special truck for inner-city municipal use is being produced at the Wörth site in the southern Rhineland-Palatinate. The first vehicle from series production will be delivered to the waste management company Urbaser A/S in Denmark before the end of the year.
ZF announces new CeTrax drive generation
ZF has announced the next generation of its CeTrax electric drive system for heavy commercial vehicles at an annual global technology event. According to ZF, the new CeTrax 2 system combines a favourable power-to-weight ratio and a compact design.
Jebsen & Jessen signs on as Mellor sales partner
The English bus manufacturer Mellor has entered into a sales partnership for its battery-electric buses in Germany and Austria. The Hamburg-based company Jebsen & Jessen Industrial Solutions will take over the sales and service of Mellor’s electric buses in both countries.
