Danfoss / UQM merger to maximise electric solutions
Through its subsidiary Danfoss Power Solutions, Danfoss of Denmark acquires the US electric drive specialist UQM Technologies. For a purchase price of around 100 million dollars, the acquisition is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2019.
Stockholm: Danfoss build hybrid ice breaker
Danfoss Editron is supplying the drive for Stockholm’s first ice-capable hybrid passenger ferry. As the Stockholm-based Waxholmsbolaget ferry will be in service throughout the year, it has been specially designed to operate in waters with an ice layer up to 25 cm thick.
Taiwan opens first fully electric bus line
The city of Taipei has opened it’s first fully electrified bus line. On the 31.5 km stretch a total of 12 electric buses will begin ferrying passengers. The buses are fitted with motors from Danfoss Editron, but these 12 are just the beginning.
Electric vehicle for mining by Danfoss and Paus
The Finnish arm of Danish Danfoss has joined Paus Maschinenfabrik from Germany in their drive to electrify mine vehicles. The first fruit of their cooperation is the MinCa 5.1 that has gone serial and is available as either hybrid or all-electric vehicle.
