EV100 now counts 50 members & UK as Ambassador
With pharma giant AstraZeneca another large fleet operator is now committing itself to electrify its entire fleet by 2030 as part of the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative. Plus, the UK Government will be the first G7 nation to join the pledge as “Ambassador”.
British corporations plan switch to electric fleets
The major British energy companies Centrica and SSE have joined the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative together with facility service provider Mitie. This commits them to electrifying all their vehicle fleets by 2030. This involves a total of around 21,000 vehicles.
Ikea Australia commits to 100% EV fleet by 2025
IKEA Australia is electrifying its entire fleet with a commitment to have quit internal combustion engines for all delivery and assembly vehicles nationally by 2025. IKEA Australia has a fleet of around 100 trucks to swap for EVs.
Swiss & Austrian Post commit to electrify fleets
The EV100 initiative of the Climate Group organisation has received four new members, namely the Swiss Post, Austrian Post, Portugal’s EDP and Meridian Energy from New Zealand. They all pledge to further electrify their service fleets by 2030.
Ikea opens in India with EVs and solar panels
Swedish furniture maker Ikea has opened their first store in India as planned. The centre in Hyderabad offers electric vehicles in their delivery fleet and uses solar power. Their targets to deepen their green stance are ambitious.
Ikea to deliver emissions-free as of 2025
The Swedish furniture manufacturer has announced ambitious goals for their sustainability strategy for 2030. The goal is to electrify 25% of deliveries by 2020, and to completely electrify the delivery fleet by 2025.
