EV100 initiative gains seven new members
The Climate Group’s EV100 initiative has gained seven new members. As usual with the initiative, the members commit to completely electrifying their company fleets by 2030. The corresponding seven fleets represent over 250,000 vehicles.

Capgemini to electrify 12,000-vehicle fleet
The French multinational information technology services and consulting company Capgemini has announced that it will only accept orders for electric or hybrid cars for its own fleet of company vehicles with immediate effect. The current 12,000 diesel and gasoline vehicles are to be gradually replaced to become a fully electric fleet by 2030.

ABB to electrify own fleet of 10,000 vehicles by 2030
The Swedish-Swiss power and automation technology group ABB has announced that it will completely electrify its fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles by 2030. The company’s climate protection goals also include using only renewable energy, as well as establishing energy efficiency targets and energy management systems

Another five major British companies joined The Climate Group’s global electric vehicles initiative EV100. The new members include OVO, Rentokil Initial, Tusker, Tarmac and Drover, who have committed to electrifying their fleets by 2030.

Iberdrola aims to build 150,000 charging stations
Iberdrola is expanding their plans to build charging infrastructure for electric cars: The Spanish energy provider plans to invest 150 million euros over the next five years in the installation of 150,000 charging points in households, companies and cities, as well as on motorways and main roads.

Schneider Electric joins EV100
Schneider Electric has joined the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative, committing to the electrification of its corporate fleet. By 2030, Schneider Electric plans to replace 14,000 vehicles in over 50 countries with electric cars.

Danish energy company joins EV100, electrifies fleet
Danish utility Ørsted has announced that by 2025 it will have completely converted its current fleet of 340 vehicles to electric vehicles including plug-in hybrids. As early as 2021, the company will only purchase or lease electric vehicles.

EV100 now counts 50 members & UK as Ambassador
With pharma giant AstraZeneca another large fleet operator is now committing itself to electrify its entire fleet by 2030 as part of the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative. Plus, the UK Government will be the first G7 nation to join the pledge as “Ambassador”.

British corporations plan switch to electric fleets
The major British energy companies Centrica and SSE have joined the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative together with facility service provider Mitie. This commits them to electrifying all their vehicle fleets by 2030. This involves a total of around 21,000 vehicles.

Ikea Australia commits to 100% EV fleet by 2025
IKEA Australia is electrifying its entire fleet with a commitment to have quit internal combustion engines for all delivery and assembly vehicles nationally by 2025. IKEA Australia has a fleet of around 100 trucks to swap for EVs.

Swiss & Austrian Post commit to electrify fleets
The EV100 initiative of the Climate Group organisation has received four new members, namely the Swiss Post, Austrian Post, Portugal’s EDP and Meridian Energy from New Zealand. They all pledge to further electrify their service fleets by 2030.
