Swiss eQooder with Zero Motorcycles tech coming out

Swiss Quadro Vehicles has brought the eQooder to its home show in Geneva. The flexible four-wheeler builds on a quad but incorporates EV technology from Zero Motorcycles. It remains a little unclear what species the LEV will last belong to, but the on-sale is set.

Zero’s most powerful electric motorcycle to date

The U.S. manufacturer Zero Motorcycles has now presented the SR/F, its fastest electric motorcycle to date. The 82 kW strong electric bike has a torque of 190 Nm, a top speed of 200 kph, and a range of 322 kilometres that can be replenished fast, claims the company.

Zero Motorcycles is introducing their first electric quad. The tilting four-wheeler named the e-Qooder is made in cooperation with the Swiss manufacturer Quadro Vehicles that fit Zero’s electric dive into their Qooder model.

Fine fuel cell concepts: Toyota will showcase hydrogen concepts at its home run in Tokyo this November. One is the Fine Comfort Ride, itself a carrier of not only fuel cell technology but autonomous driving capability as well. Its drives sit in the wheels and a load of hydrogen is said to last for a 1,000 kilometres while the sleek mini van can transport up to six persons. Also on display in Japan’s capital will be the Sora, Toyota’s first ever fuel cell bus that is set to go on sale next year. More than a 100 Sora are also booked to chauffeur visitors during the 2020 Olympics around Tokyo and will likely leave a lasting impression with their LED lights and stereoscopic shape.

No credits for Model 3: Supercharging was never supposed to be free for those opting for the economy Tesla or at least not entirely. Turns out, that fast-charging will cost from day one as the annual credit of 400 kWh Model S and X users get nowadays won’t apply to the Model 3. The credit translates to about 4 – 5 full charges or 1,500 kilometres so future Model 3 drivers better hope for that new CCS plug we mentioned a few days ago.

He reasoned that the cost of reducing nitrogen oxide emissions is becoming too expensive but added that the technology would have a role to play until at least 2023 and later told Reuters that no firm decision is imminent. While Samuelsson may be careful, Volvo has long decided to invest in electrification and committed to offering a PHEV variant for each of its models.

Toyota to produce batteries in USA? With a move to Li-ion technology and away from NiMH batteries upon Toyota, its subsidiary Primearth EV Energy said there are plans to set up a plant in the States. While the project is still in discussion, Toyota does want to produce its own batteries for both hybrids and electric cars and is also concerned about shipping the packs from Japan. Until such a production facility would be set up however, Primeearth is to expand its capacities in Japan, while Toyota will source batteries for its Li-ion Prius PHEV from Panasonic until 2020 at least.

Though here, there is still a steering wheel – at least for the most part of the film. The car will be officially presented at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas.

Recall order: Germany’s automobile regulator (KBA) ordered Volkswagen to recall 2.4 million diesel vehicles in the country. Super hybrid rumoured: Apparently, Audi plans to issue a hybrid super car by 2016, the Swedish edition of Auto Motor & Sport reports. This Audi R10 would not build on the diesel hybrid technology of the victorious Le Mans racer but take on its competitors like the Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 and LaFerrari with a 1,000-hp hybrid 6-litre V10 drivetrain.
